APC Primaries: EDHA Speaker Secures Return Bid While His Deputy Suffers Shocking Defeat

APC primary: EDHA speaker wins return bid, deputy loses

The Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Blessing Agbebaku on Wednesday won a third term bid to return to the house as he won the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of assembly for Owan West constituency.

But it was not the same for his deputy, Osamwonyi Atu who lost his primary election for the Orhionmwon South constituency.

He lost the primary to one Mr. Ikpomwonsa Aitusi, in the House of Assembly primary held across the state.

The primary was peaceful in several parts of the state as party members came out early to queue behind their preferred aspirant.

In Akoko-Edo, a former Deputy Speaker, Yekini Idiaye, representing Akoko-Edo I, lost the ticket to Humprey Adewunmi while his counterpart from Akoko-Edo II Donald Okogbe won an overwhelming vote to return to the house.

The lawmaker representing Oredo East, Uyi Omosigho, lost the primary to Mr. Osamuede Edebiri while Asonsere Nicholas representing Ikpoba-Okha lost to Ndidi Aghimien.

Similarly, Hon Bright Iyamu representing Orhionmwon South was defeated by one Etinosa Odiase.
