ADUSTECH SRA Speaker Suspended: Reason, Official Statement, and Updates

The Students Affairs Division (SAD) wishes to inform the university comimunity that the Speaker of the Student Representative Assembly (SRA) has been suspended from office with immediate effect due to acts considered detrimental to the peace, unity, and orderly administration of students’ affairs within the institution.
This decision follows credible reports and findings that the Speaker misled members of the House on issues relating to the recent stallholders matter and subscquently refuscd to honour the resolutions and agreements reached during the stakeholders’ mceting held on Thursday. 14th May, 2026.

The said meeting involved representatives of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) Executive Council, SRA Principal Officers, the Students Afairs Division, and the Department of State Security (DSS), where mutual agreements were reached in the interest of peace, stability, and proper coordination of student activities within the university community.
Despite these collective resolutions, the Speaker failed to comply with the agreed terms and continued actions capable of creating misunderstanding and tension among students.
Consequently, in line with the powers vested in the Students Affairs Division to esure discipline, orderliness, and adherence to constituted authority, the Speaker is hereby suspended from office pending further investigation and appropriate disciplinary actions.
Students are therefore advised to remain calm, law-abiding, and continue to conduct their activities peacefully while the relevant authorities handle the matter accordingly.
The University Management remains committed to maintaining peace, discipline, and harmonious relationships among all organs of student leadership.
