DEPLOYMENT OF SECURITY PERSONNEL

We bring you warm compliments from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), Nigeria.

As part of the continuous efforts to enhance the integrity, safety, and security of all WAEC examination processes across the nation, and after careful assessment and consultation with relevant national security agencies, the Council has finalized plans to upgrade for the upcoming WASSCE for School Candidates, 2026. This comprehensive strategic upgrade is crucial to maintaining a secure and conducive environment for all candidates, invigilators, and
officials involved in the examination. The security, credibility, and overall success of the WASSCE are of paramount importance to the Council, and this proactive measure safeguards these objectives.

Consequently, there will be a comprehensive deployment of personnel from the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to all WAEC examination centers across Nigeria. This deployment, fully operational and effective from June 1st, 2026, is rooted in the Council’s unwavering commitment to preventing examination malpractice, ensuring the secure transit of examination materials, and maintaining absolute law and order within and around examination premises. This added layer of security provides assurance to all stakeholders and ensures the smooth conduct of the examinations, free from any form of disruption.

The Council requires your full cooperation and supports this necessary action to ensure the fairness and credibility of the examination for all. Kindly communicate this information to all your staff and students to ensure seamless implementation of this security plan.
