How to Apply for Nigeria Police Academy Postgraduate Programmes: Step-by-Step Guide.

Nigeria Police Academy has taken a major step as it prepares to start its postgraduate degree programme.

The Academy hosted a resource verification team from the National Universities Commission (NUC), a required stage before the postgraduate programme can begin. The visit took place under the leadership of the 24th Commandant, AIG Patrick A. Atayero MSc(UK), MBA(USA), psc, MSPSP.

NUC Team Visits Nigeria Police Academy

The NUC team came for a resource verification exercise linked to the planned postgraduate degree programme.

Prof. Maxwell Gidado SAN, OON led the team, which also included 17 other NUC officials. Their visit formed part of the formal process needed before the Academy can begin the programme.

Academy Leadership Receives the Team

AIG Patrick A. Atayero hosted the NUC officials at the Nigeria Police Academy.

The Commandant said the postgraduate plan goes beyond adding courses; it seeks to give officers deeper knowledge, sharper thinking and stronger leadership skills for modern policing. That point matters, especially for officers who may later handle complex security and public service duties.

Link With the IGP’s Vision

AIG Atayero also linked the plan to the vision of the 23rd indigenous Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu psc(+), NPM.

The IGP’s leadership places strong focus on professionalism and continuous learning within the Force. The proposed postgraduate programme fits that direction by giving officers a higher academic path inside the police training system.
